Madeline Valentine is an illustrator, writer, and educator. She has illustrated 10 picture books with clients including Knopf Books for Young readers, Candlewick, Farrar Straus and Giroux, Macmillan, Random House, Roaring Brook Press, Schwartz & Wade and Simon & Schuster.

Madeline is a lecturer at the Sam Fox School of Design and Visual Art at Washington University in St. Louis and St. Charles Community College. She taught illustration at Pratt Institute from 2017-2019. She received her BFA from Pratt Institute, and an MFA from Washington University in St. Louis’ MFA IVC program in 2021.
